File name | Poor Management Practices in an Organisation - Causes, Effects and Possible Solutions |
File Description | Management is the art of getting things done through people in organisations. Managers are not bureaucrats, they do more than just keep the trains on time. Managers can also give organisations a sense of purpose and direction (Utterback, 1994). Good management practices comprise of lean operations, performance monitoring, target setting and talent management (Utterback, 1994). The research question that the paper intends to answer is "what are the causes, effects and possible solutions of poor management practices in an organisation?" The question is important to answer because poor management practices impact on the productivity, profitability, sales growth and survival rates of an organisation. The answer to the research question will be delivered through a secondary research approach which I found appropriate due to time constraint of capstone project submission date and also that it will give me a broader understanding of the topic through reviewing of other people's work.
