Management Of The Sick Neonate | |
File name | Management Of The Sick Neonate |
File Description | The Emergency Rescue Helicopter Service for Western Australia has been set up by the Department of Health and is currently run by the Fire and Emergency Services Association (FESA). ERHS is involved with Search and Rescue Missions and is available for response to Primary Medical Incidents. The ERHS will now be providing assistance with inter-hospital WANTS transfers when appropriate. Currently, WANTS utilises St John Ambulance for road retrievals up to ~150kms from Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. For distances greater than this, WANTS contacts the Royal Flying Doctor Service. It is envisaged that the ERHS may be utilised by WANTS for Priority One transports requiring road ambulance between 50-150kms and for Priority One transports when an RFDS aeroplane and team are not available within a critical time period. The following guidelines will provide a guide to the use of the ERHS for neonatal retrievals within Western Australia. |
