The Theory Of Demographic Cycles And A Social Evolution | |
File name | The Theory Of Demographic Cycles And A Social Evolution |
File Description | The theory of demographic (or ecological) cycles is one of the new directions in economic and social history; the distinctive feature of this direction is application of population dynamic models. American biologist and demographer Raymond Pearl laid the foundation of the theory of demographic cycles by showing that the quantitative changes of animal (and perhaps human) populations may be described by the so-called logistic equation (Pearl 1926). The solution of this differential equation is the logistic curve. |
